Loan Closet

Our loan closet program provides free crutches, walkers, canes and wheelchairs to residents of the Town of Greece at no charge.

Important Notes

  • You must be a resident of the Town of Greece to borrow from us.
  • We do not offer commodes, shower chairs, beds, lifts, power wheelchairs or any other type of medical equipment.

Crutches, Walkers, Canes, Wheelchairs

To borrow one of these items, simply stop in to our headquarters. There is no need to sign the equipment out, we just ask you to return the item when you're done with it. We do ask that you kindly return them in a prompt fashion when you’re done so that others can benefit from this great service.

You may contact us at (585) 227-2073 ext. 1 prior to stopping in to check the availability of items. Regrettably, we cannot guarantee the availability of any one item at a certain time. Depending on availability, we can hold an item for you over the phone for 24 hours.

We normally have many crutches, walkers and canes in stock, but availablility of wheelchairs varies. All items are first come, first served unless you've reserved them over the phone.

Donations

We accept donations to our loan closet including new or gently used wheelchairs, crutches, canes and walkers. Your donation is tax deductible. We are happy to provide you with a receipt when making your donation. To donate, ring the bell in the main entrance of our headquarters. If no one responds to your bell, all personnel are probably responding to 911 calls. If you don't want a receipt, please leave the equipment in the main entrance. If you want a receipt, please take equipment you plan to donate with you and return at another time.

We do not accept donations of commodes, shower chairs, beds, lifts or any other type of medical equipment.
